Being your own inner coach, giving yourself a pep talk, and focusing on the positive, the end goal you are choosing to achieve, is a recipe for success.

What you focus on is what you get more of in our lives.  It you focus on everything you don't want to happen, you will get more of that.

Coaching yourself to be and do your best is not about being a pollyanna; you can take off the rose colored glasses and see things as they are AND support yourself to move forward, support yourself to give it your best shot.

Worrying is praying for what you don't want to happen.  Seriously, when you say over and over again please don't let X happen or what if I lose my job, what if they move me to a division where X will be my boss and I can't stand X, or what if I don't complete this project on time, or what if I don't get that raise, I'm afraid I won't get that raise, or I'm afraid that they may cut me when the new merger goes through . . . HOW is this helping?  HOW is this kind of self-talk causing anything but anxiety which leads to ulcers and the like?

If you can't coach yourself on your. own, get someone, preferably a trained, experienced, compassionate coach, to walk you through the process and help you to coach yourself.

Stuff happens all of the time.  Life and the business world can be really challenging.  And, you can approach what you experience in a NEW way, one that keeps your sane, optimistic and hopeful no matter what is happening on the ground. 

That's what being your own inner coach means, being more content and fulfilled in this fast-paced, demand-filled world.
